The purpose of the project is to provide reliable and efficient transportation facilities for all users traveling on in the City of Corry by making improvements:

• Route 77 (West Main Street/Union Street) between the intersection with W Church St. and the intersection with Route 426.
• Route 426 (East Main Street and North Center Street) from the Warren County line to the intersection with Route 6.
• W. Washington Street (Route 2020) from the city line and the intersection with Route 426.
• S. Center Street (Route 2029) from the line and the intersection with Route 426.

Work will vary on each roadway and will include full-depth pavement replacement, paving, milling, sign and line painting updates, drainage upgrades, and bicycle and pedestrian safety improvements. 

The contractor is M&B Services of Clarion. The contract cost is $9,786,571.42. 

Improvements will be completed on Route 77 (West Main Street/Union Street) between the intersection with W. Church Street and the intersection with Route 426.

This work is expected to take place in 2026. 

Work will include the following: 

• Full-depth reconstruction (full concrete and asphalt removal and new subbase and asphalt layers). 
  • Phase 1 from First Avenue to Mead Avenue.
  • Phase 2 from Mead Avenue to Church Street.
• Milling and paving from Center Street to First Avenue.
• Guiderail replacement.
• Drainage upgrades.

The average daily traffic (ADT) on Route 77 is approximately 3,300 vehicles per day with 11% truck traffic. 

Reconstruction work on Route 77 will require a detour, which is expected to be in place for six months. The 35-mile detour will be posted using Route 77, Route 8, Route 6, and Route 426. When the detour is not in place, motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers.

Improvements will be done on Route 426 (East Main Street and North Center Street) from the Warren County line to the intersection with Route 6. 

Work includes the following: 

• Milling and paving. 
• Base repairs.
• Sign and roadway paint updates.
• Railroad cross upgrades.
• Installation of Share the Road signs and pavement markings.
• ADA-compliant curb ramp installation.
• Drainage upgrades.

The average daily traffic (ADT) on Route 426 is approximately 6,200 vehicles per day with 7% truck traffic. 

An approximately one-week detour will be needed work near the Center Street railroad crossing. The detour will use the same path as the proposed Route 77 detour. Pedestrian detours may be needed during curb ramp construction. Additionally, motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers.

Improvements will be done on W. Washington Street (Route 2020) from the city line and the intersection with Route 426 and S. Center Street (Route 2029) from the line and the intersection with Route 426.

Work includes the following:

• Milling and paving.
• Base repairs.
• Drainage upgrades.
• Sign and roadway paint updates.
• ADA-compliant curb ramp installation.

The average daily traffic (ADT) for W. Washington Street is approximately 1,200 vehicles per day with 8% truck traffic. The average daily traffic (ADT) for S. Center Street is approximately 1,500 vehicles per day with 2% truck traffic. 

Motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers.
