Last Updated: 04/16/2026
The project, located in New Sewickley Township, Beaver County, will add exclusive left turn lanes on Route 2004, Freedom Crider Road at the intersection with Route 2006, Lovi Road. This intersection currently experiences a high number of left-turning vehicles on the westbound approach causing congestion due to a lack of left turn lanes on Freedom Crider Road. The addition of left turn lanes on Freedom Crider Road will result in the road needing to be widened, traffic signals to be relocated, drainage to be updated, minor right-of-way acquisitions, and utility relocations. Portions of Lovi Road will be repaved to tie into the new intersection layout. Construction is anticipated to start in the spring of 2027 and finish during the 2028 construction season.
Additional Project Information
No detours are anticipated. Phased construction will be utilized to try and keep a single lane open in each direction while reconstructing the intersection. Final paving will take place under short-term, single lane closures using either temporary signals or flaggers to control traffic through the work zone.
