The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) invites the public to a plans display regarding the Route 267, Section 770, Bridge Project over Meshoppen Creek. This plans display will be held online, and plans will be displayed for public viewing at the Meshoppen Borough building.

The Route 267 Section 770 project involves replacement of the existing bridge, located on SR 267 (Bridge St), crossing the Meshoppen Creek in Wyoming County, Pennsylvania. The existing bridge is currently deficient with an overall bridge rating of 4.

The existing structure is a three-span structure comprised of two concrete T-Beam approach spans and a main riveted steel through truss span. The two-lane bridge was built in 1934 and last received a major rehabilitation in 1986. The bridge has a structure length of 214'-0". The out-to-out width is 39'-6”, and the curb-to-curb width is 23'-0" with two 7’-3” sidewalks. The bridge is currently posted for one truck at a time.

This bridge replacement will alleviate any current weight and height restrictions and provide a structure that meets current design standards. The proposed bridge is a two-lane bridge with 2-11’ lanes, 2-4’ shoulders, and 2-6’ sidewalks. This project will also include approximately 150’ of full depth paving on the roadway approaches.

The bridge is anticipated to be closed during the 2027 and 2028 construction season for approximately 12-18 months. During construction, traffic will be detoured using state and local roads. Access to driveways and businesses within and near the work area will remain open during construction.

The purpose of the plans display is to introduce the project, describe the maintenance of traffic during construction, and receive public input regarding any questions or concerns with the project.

The plans display will be held online and will be available from October 6, 2025 to November 10, 2025.

From points north of the bridge, head north along Route 267 to the Route 267 and Canal Street intersection. At the intersection, turn right onto Canal Street and travel 0.15 miles. At Canal Street and Route 6 intersection, turn left onto  Route 6 and travel 0.27 miles.

From points south of the bridge, head north along Route 6 to the Route 6 and Canal Street. At intersection of Route 6 and Canal Street, turn right and travel 0.15 miles. At intersection of Canal Street and  Route 267 turn Right and travel 0.1 miles along  Route 267.
