The original bridge was constructed in 1924 and is being replaced by a 66' long single span prestressed concrete spread box beam bridge on integral abutments. The new curb-to-curb width will be 28' with two 11' lanes and two 3' shoulders, and construction activities also include minimal approach reconstruction and resurfacing, guide rail, and signing/pavement marking upgrades.
Traffic is being detoured during construction via US 209, Catawissa Street/Tuscararra Mountain Drive, PA 54, Morea Road, and Burma Road.
Construction is currently ongoing with an anticipated completion date in Spring of 2026.
