State Route: Route 2194
Local Name: New Britain Road
Project Type: Bridge Repairs
MPMS Number: 113813
Last Updated: October 2025
The proposed scope of work for the New Britain Road bridge over Doylestown Bypass includes steel beam end repairs. The bridge will be jacked for bearing replacements at the abutments and pedestal repairs at Pier 3, and all joints will be replaced. Concrete repairs will be performed on the substructure units, and the piers will receive a protective coating. Spall repairs will be made to the barrier, and there will be improvements made to the drainage. A concrete curb will be installed at the southwest approach. There will not be any modifications to the existing guiderail or the guiderail connections to the bridge barrier.
Due to the nature of the project, the bridge will need to be closed and detoured. The anticipated detour is 1.2 miles, and the route utilizes Rolling Hill Blvd., Turk Rd., and Sauerman Rd., which are local roads. No temporary construction easements will be required.
