The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announces a Plans Display for the SR 2021 Section 01B, Gap View Road over Marshalls Creek bridge replacement project in Smithfield Township, Monroe County.

The proposed project is located on SR 2021 (Gap View Road) in Smithfield Township, Monroe County. The terrain is level throughout the project. The bridge replacement is located just north of the intersection of River Road and Gap View Road (SR 2021).

The purpose of this project is to replace the structure carrying SR 2021 over Marshalls Creek. Approximately 69 ft. of the approach roadways will be reconstructed. The existing profile will undergo minimal changes. The existing structure will be replaced with prestressed spread box beams on reinforced-concrete conventional abutments. A detour will be required during construction to remove and replace the structure.

Work is estimated to occur from late 2028 through the 2029 construction season. A detour will be required during construction to remove the existing structure and install the proposed structure. The acquisition of temporary construction easements is anticipated to complete the work; however, all schedules are subject to change.

Individuals or groups with a demonstrated interest within the project limits, surrounding businesses, and local property owners who may be affected by the proposed project are encouraged to review the displays and contact us with any questions.

The purpose of the plans display is to introduce the project and receive public input regarding any questions or concerns.
