This is project to replace the bridge that carries Little Cooley Road over Little Federal Run in Athens Township, Crawford County.

The bridge is located on Little Cooley Road (Route 1037) between the intersection with Dobbs Road and the intersection with Athens Road

The project will include replacing the existing structure with a new concrete bridge. Work will also include minor paving on each end of the bridge and improvements to the roadway shoulder.

The existing concrete single-span, T-beam bridge was built in 1940. It is rated in poor condition. Approximately 300 vehicles a day use the bridge, on average. 

Work is expected to occur during the 2026 construction season.

Traffic Impacts

A detour will be required during construction and is expected to be in place for approximately four months. The proposed 11.5-mile detour route will be posted using Route 77 and Riceville Road (Route 1039).
