The Route 11 project will involve the replacement of existing 15-foot Pipe-Arch metal culvert under SR 0011 (Main Street) carrying a Tributary to Susquehanna River in Great Bend Township, Susquehanna County. The scope of work consists of culvert replacement with a precast concrete box culvert and the construction of a new channel from this culvert towards the north. This new channel will end where the existing 30-inch pipe ends. Temporary pipes will be used to maintain the stream flow during construction.
The existing drainage system in the area will be modified to accommodate this new channel. Approach roadway work will consist of full depth pavement reconstruction over the new culvert section plus guide rail along the west side of Route 11. Traffic control method consists of half width construction maintaining one travel lane with traffic signals. No detours are anticipated.
