Project Type: Bridge Replacement
MPMS Number: 110763
Proposed Construction Start: May 2028

Last Updated: May 2026
This project plans to replace the existing single-span reinforced-concrete slab bridge, originally built in 1954, with a precast concrete box culvert. The structure will accommodate 10-foot travel lanes and 4-foot shoulders in each direction. Following the May 8, 2024 public meeting, the scope of the project was expanded to include an 8-foot-6-inch multi-use path. The multi-use path that currently runs parallel to the road will be redirected from the existing pedestrian bridge to the new culvert structure.
Roadway improvements will include full-depth pavement reconstruction of the approaches over approximately 600 linear feet. Guiderails and end treatments will be replaced on both approaches. Signing and pavement markings within the project area will be replaced.
During construction, Cold Spring Creamery Road will be closed to all through traffic. Drivers will be directed to use a detour route that includes Swamp Road (Route 313), E. State St. (U.S. 202), Mechanicsville Road, and Durham Road (Route 413).
