    Public Meeting

    PennDOT will hold a public plans display as part of the Lehman Township Supervisor’s Meeting on October 19, 2026. PennDOT staff and their design consultant will be available to explain the project and to answer questions on an informal basis. Project area design maps will be displayed for all visitors to review.

    Virtual Plans Display

    ​The purpose of the virtual public plans display is to introduce the project, to display and describe the planned traffic control, and to receive public input regarding the proposed improvements. The public is encouraged to respond to the public questionnaire and provide comments by clicking on the “Submit a Comment” button below.

    The public comment period, where the community is encouraged to respond with questions and concerns will be from October 19, 2026 through November 2, 2026.

    Jackson Road (Route 1061/T-812) over Branch of Harvey’s Creek proposed bridge replacement project consists of replacing the existing single-lane stone masonry arch bridge with a two-lane precast reinforced concrete box culvert. The permanent approach roadway work will include tie-ins with the existing roadway, as well as drainage and guide rail upgrades.

    Due to the presence of a wetland area and the State Forest lands adjacent to the project area, a detour will be required to perform the proposed work while minimizing the project footprint. Jackson Road (Route 1061/T-812) traffic will be detoured using both state and local roads.

    The 4.1 mile detour will include Jackson Road (Route 1061/T-812), Fedor road (Route 1059), Route 29, and Smiths Pond Road (Route T-702). It is anticipated that the detour will be in place in Summer 2028.

    Permanent right-of-way acquisition and temporary construction easements are required to construct the new structure and drainage improvements. Relocations of aerial utility lines will also be necessary to construct the project.

    The project is expected to bid in May of 2027, with construction to begin in Spring 2028 and progress through Fall 2028. One construction season is anticipated for this project.

    Detour

    From points east of the bridge, head east along Jackson Road (Route 1061/T-812) for 0.4 miles. Turn right onto Smiths Pond Road (Route T-702) and travel 2.0 miles. Turn right onto Route 29 and travel 1.2 miles. Turn right onto Fedor Road (Route 1059) and travel 0.9 miles. Turn right onto Jackson road (Route 1061/T-812). End of detour. 

    From points west of the bridge, head west along Jackson Road (Route 1061/T-812) for 0.6 miles. Turn left onto Fedor Road (Route 1059) and travel 0.9 miles. Turn left onto Route 29 and travel 1.2 miles. Turn left onto Smiths Pond Road (Route T-702) and travel 2.0 miles until it ends at the intersection with Jackson Road (Route 1061/T-812). End of detour.
