Detour to be in Place Starting June 29, 2026
Construction on the Corry Paving Project is advancing into the phases involving Route 77. In connection with that work, Route 77 will be closed from Mead Avenue to Church Street in the City of Corry, Erie County later this month.
Work on Route 77 includes full-depth reconstruction from First Avenue to Church Street. Milling and paving from Center Street and First Avenue, guide rail replacements, ADA-compliant curb ramp updates, and drainage upgrades.
The closure is expected to start June 29, 2026, as work gets underway at the Mead Avenue intersection. That work is expected to be completed by July 5, 2026, at which time the intersection will reopen.
Route 77 will remain closed west of Mead Avenue to Church Street for several more weeks.
The work is part of a $9.8 million multi-year resurfacing project that will give motorists a smoother ride on more than a total of 5 miles of roadway in Corry, including Route 77, W. Washington Street (Route 2020), and S. Center Street. Information on the Corry Paving Project is available online at www.pa.gov/DOTDistrict1 under the View District 1 Projects.
PennDOT urges drivers to slow down when driving in work zones, and to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.
