The Centennial Avenue (PA 168) over Jordan Run bridge replacement and intersection improvement project is located at the intersection of PA 168 and PA 351 in New Galilee, Beaver County. The project scope of work includes full replacement of the existing bridge carrying PA 168 over Jordan Run and asphalt roadway widening at the intersection of PA 168 and PA 351. The project will also upgrade bridge barrier, guide rail, and roadway drainage facilities.
Additional Project Information
The project is anticipated to be constructed in phases. The first phases are expected to occur from April 2027 to August 2027. These phases will include utility pole relocation and roadway widening along PA 351. Long-term traffic restrictions, such as detours, are not anticipated for these early phases.
The subsequent phase consists of the removal and replacement of the existing bridge with a precast concrete box culvert. Although a closure and detour of PA 168 and PA 351 will be necessary to remove the existing bridge and install the precast concrete culvert components, portions of the intersection may remain open to most types of vehicular traffic during roadway widening activities. Roadway drainage upgrades, guide rail installation, and final roadway paving are also expected to occur during this phase.
The final phases consist of work area restoration to include seeding for permanent vegetation. This phase may extend into early 2028 to ensure vegetation has established. No long-term traffic restrictions, such as detours, are expected during this phase.
