The Route 2002 over UNT West Branch Wallenpaupack Creek Bridge project consists of the replacement of the crossing of Route 2002 (Wimmers Road) over UNT West Branch Wallenpaupack Creek located in Jefferson Township, Lackawanna County. The project proposes to replace the existing single-span steel beam bridge with a new single-span prestressed concrete bridge. Additional roadway improvements on the bridge approaches include full depth pavement reconstruction, new drainage, guide rail, signing, and pavement markings.

Utility impacts are anticipated and will require temporary and/or permanent relocation. There will be temporary construction easements and required right-of-way necessary for this project.

Additional Project Information

A detour of Route 2002 (Wimmers Road) will be required to perform the proposed work. Route 2002 traffic will use a 3.4-mile detour using state routes including: Route 348 (Mt. Cobb Road) and Route 590 (Hamlin Highway). The detour is expected to last approximately six (6) months during construction.
