The Fayette County Epoxy Overlay 2026 project will add a 3/8" epoxy overlay and new pavement markings on four Fayette County bridges: Route 51 over Route 119 - Pittsburgh Street (North Union Township), Route 21 over Route 119 - McClellandstown Road (South Union Township), Route 40 over Route 43 - Redstone Way (Redstone Township), and Route 119 over Route 43 - Morgantown Road (Georges Township). Additional work varies to each specific bridge. The Route 51 bridge will also see pavement relief joint repairs, concrete curb repairs, concrete pavement repairs, and compression seal replacement. The Route 21 bridge will also see compression seal replacement, and strip seal replacement. The Route 119 bridge will also see compression seal replacement and minor spot painting of the steel. Traffic will be maintained with short-term lane closures for Route 21, Route 40, and Route 119. A weekend detour will be used for Route 51.
