Project Overview
Municipality: Annville Township
State Route: Route 934
Local Name: S. White Oak Street
Project Type: Bridge Rehabilitation
MPMS Number: 119212
Proposed Construction Start: September 2026
Proposed Construction End: August 2027
Last Updated: March 2026
The project includes the bridge rehabilitation of Route 934 bridge (S. White Oak Street) over Quittapahilla Creek in Annville Township, Lebanon County. The purpose of this project is to provide a continued safe and efficient crossing on Route 934 over Quittapahilla Creek.
Within the project area, Route 934 is a two-lane roadway located in a residential neighborhood setting on rolling terrain and is classified as an Urban Minor Arterial. The roadway within the project limits has a posted speed limit of 25 miles per hour and an average daily traffic volume of 7,736 vehicles per day.
The existing structure was built in 1954 and is a two-span steel beam bridge on cast-in-place concrete abutments and pier. The bridge length is 90’-0” and has a curb-to-curb width of 34’-0”.
The project involves superstructure rehabilitation including painting of the existing beam ends and installation of surface mounted galvanic anodes at the existing beam ends to prevent further corrosion. The horizontal and vertical geometries of the roadway will not be changed.
Route 934 will not be detoured during construction. Construction is anticipated to be accomplished using traffic control involving temporary lane shifts on Route 934.
The project is currently in design, and construction is expected to take approximately 4 months at this site. The exact construction timeline is not currently known, but construction is currently anticipated to begin in the Fall of 2026 or Spring of 2027.
The purpose of the plans display is to introduce the project and solicit public input, questions, or concerns regarding the project.
