This project is meant to improve the safety of an exit ramp within the district. The location is along US 30 West and the Cedar Street exit ramp in Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County. A guide sign will be installed along with replacement of signage leading up to the exit ramp. High friction surface will be applied along the exit ramp with pavement marking arrows. This work will help to prepare motorists to get into the correct lane and alert them to slow down for the exit ramp which will help to reduce the chance of a crash. Construction is expected to begin in late Fall 2025. Work will be completed using nighttime lane closures and a three (3) day detour of Cedar Street.
