The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) invites the public to a virtual plans display regarding the Route 2001, Section 350 W Ashley Street Bridge Rehabilitation Project over Solomon Creek. The purpose of the project is to provide a sustainable crossing over Solomon Creek by rehabilitating the existing bridge to address the structural deficiencies, and provide continued access to residents, businesses and emergency services.
The project consists of rehabilitating the existing prestressed adjacent box beam bridge by constructing a new composite reinforced concrete deck and new barriers. The bridge work will also include repairs to the existing substructures. Additional proposed work will include approach pavement reconstruction along Route 2001 (W Ashley Street) and W Cemetery Street, and guide rail upgrades. The proposed approach roadway width will consist of 2 - 11’-0” travel lanes and 8’-0” shoulders.
Additional Project Information
Traffic control during construction will consist of phased construction utilizing temporary traffic signals. This will also include temporary widening at the Cemetery Street intersection.
