This is a project to improve more than 25 miles of various roads in Mercer County.
The proposed improvements include milling and paving along with upgrades to the guide rail, and road paint.
Below is a list of roads included in the plans.
Work will be done on 2.21 miles from Interstate 79 (Raymond P. Shafer Highway) to Route 965 (Henderson Road).
Work in this area will include removing 2 inches of the existing surface and replace with 2 inches of new pavement material, updates to existing guide rail, and replacement of road paint and markers.
Work is expected to be performed during daylight hours with temporary single-lane closures and traffic controlled by flaggers during construction operations.
Work is expected to take place during the 2027 construction season.
Work will be done on 7.15 miles from Leesburg Station Road (Route 2002) to Route 62.
Work in this area will include removing 2 inches of the existing surface and replace with 2 inches of new pavement material, updates to existing guide rail, and replacement of road paint and markers.
Work is expected to be performed during daylight hours with temporary single-lane closures and traffic controlled by flaggers during construction operations.
Work is expected to take place during the 2028 construction season.
Work will be done on 2.83 miles from the border of Butler and Mercer counties to the border of Pine Township and Grove City Borough.
Work in this area will include removing 2 inches of the existing surface and replace with 2 inches of new pavement material, updates to existing guide rail, replacement of road paint and markers.
Work is expected to be performed during daylight hours with temporary single-lane closures and traffic controlled by flaggers during construction operations.
Work is expected to take place during the 2027 construction season.
Work will be done on 5.63 miles from Route 358 (Lake Street) to the border of New Lebanon Borough and French Creek Township.
Work in this area will include removing 2 inches of the existing surface and replace with 2 inches of new pavement material, updates to existing guide rail, replacement of road paint and markers.
Work is expected to be performed during daylight hours with temporary single-lane closures and traffic controlled by flaggers during construction operations.
Work is expected to take place during the 2027 construction season.
Work will be done on 3.84 miles from Route 158 (Mercer-New Wilmington Road) to Neshannock Creek.
Work in this area will include removing 2 inches of the existing surface and replace with 2 inches of new pavement material, updates to existing guide rail, and replacement of road paint and markers.
Two different temporary Red-Arrow detours will be utilized during daytime construction and are expected to be in place over a one-month period. Residents are to be notified in writing one week prior to closure and to be provided with a paving schedule. The proposed 7.7-mile detour 1 uses Route 158, Route 208, and New Castle-Mercer Road (Route 2001). The proposed 9.8-mile detour 2 uses New Castle-Mercer Road, Route 208, and Route 19.
Work is expected to take place during the 2027 construction season.
Work will be done on 3.84 miles from Route 18 (New Castle Road) to Harthegig Run.
Work in this area will include removing 2 inches of the existing surface and replace with 2 inches of new pavement material, updates to existing guide rail, and replacement of road paint and markers.
Two different temporary Red-Arrow detours will be utilized during daytime construction and are expected to be in place over a one-month period. Residents are to be notified in writing one week prior to closure and to be provided with a paving schedule. The proposed 16.2-mile detour 1 uses Keel Ridge Road (Route 3011) and Route 318. The proposed 7.3-mile detour 2 uses Route 18, Route 208, and Keel Ridge Road.
Work is expected to take place during the 2027 construction season.
