Local Name: Dunn Valley Road
Project Type: Bridge Replacement
MPMS Number: 84910
Proposed Construction: 2027

This is a proposed project to replace the bridge that carries Dunn Valley Road over Elk Creek in McKean Township, Erie County.

The bridge is located on Dunn Valley Road (Route 4013) between the intersection with Oliver Road and the intersection with Hamot Road/Elk Creek Road.

The project includes replacing the existing steel bridge with a new concrete bridge. Work will also include minimal paving on each side of the bridge and updated guiderail and roadway paint.

The existing steel I-beam bridge was built in 1955. It is classified as poor condition and is posted with a 27-ton weight limit. Approximately 600 vehicles a day use the bridge, on average.

Work is expected to occur in 2027 construction season.

Detour Information

A detour will be required during construction and is expected to be in place for approximately four months. The proposed 7.4-mile detour route uses Reichert Road (Route 4013), Flower Road/Oliver Road (Route 4008), Robison Road (Route 4024), and Route 19 (Peach Street).
