The Project is the rehabilitation of the bridge structure. The repairs and improvements to the bridge will prevent further deterioration and restore the structure to good condition. Construction will be staged with traffic maintained in both directions.

The scope of work will be as follows:

  • Remove the existing concrete bridge railing and replace it with a new bridge railing
  • Perform concrete repairs and crack repairs to the arch barrel
  • Perform concrete repairs to the spandrel walls, wingwalls, and abutments.
  • Improve off-bridge drainage behind the wingwalls.
  • Install rock protection along the abutments and wingwalls.
  • Remove deposits and timber debris in the channels
  • Upgrade guide rail to current MASH (safety?) standards
  • Provide a sidewalk connection from the SEPTA Township Line Road Station to Farwood Road
  • Repave the roadway

No detour will be required. Traffic restrictions will be single lane closures with possible lane shifts.
