Project Overview
County: Franklin
State Route: 3014-013
Municipality: Antrim Township
Local Name: Hykes Road
Project Type: Bridge Replacement over I-81
MPMS Number: 117143
Proposed Construction Start: Summer 2027
Proposed Construction End: Summer 2028
Last Updated: July 2025
The Hykes Road (Route 3014, Section 013) bridge replacement project is located over Interstate 81 in Antrim Township, Franklin County, 1.9 miles east of the intersection with Williamsport Pike (Route 3001) and 500 feet west of Molly Pitcher Highway (Route 11).
The purpose of this project is to address the deteriorating condition of the bridge and to provide continued safe and efficient access on Route 3014 over I-81 in Antrim Township, Franklin County.
The project includes replacing the bridge on the existing alignment. The existing structure is a four span prestressed concrete I-beam bridge built in 1960. The structure has a span length of 217 feet and carries a roadway with two 12-foot lanes and 2-foot shoulders. The replacement bridge will be evaluated for a two span, prestressed concrete bulb-tee or spread box beam carrying 12-foot lanes and 5-foot shoulders. Additionally, the roadway will be reconstructed for approximately 250 feet along the western approach to the bridge and 300 feet along the eastern approach. Guide rail will be updated in all quadrants.
Traffic is anticipated to be detoured during construction. The proposed detour route is approximately 8.6-miles long and will utilize Williamsport Pike, State Route 163 and US 11. The duration of the detour is expected to be approximately 3-4 months.
The project is currently in design and construction work is expected to take place in 2027 and 2028 construction seasons. The duration of construction is anticipated to last 12 months. The hard copy plans will also be available for review at the Antrim Township Municipal Building during the dates listed above.
