A $1.8 million resurfacing project that will give motorists a smoother ride on nearly 5 miles of Route 6 in Freehold and Pittsfield Township, Warren County is scheduled to start next week.
The project will include milling and paving of 4.74 miles of roadway from the intersection of Route 6 and Sears Hill Road in Freehold Township to the intersection of Route 6 and Nelson Hills Road in Pittsfield Township.
Work will also include roadway base repairs, side road/driveway adjustments, shoulder backup, tree trimming, and updates to drainage, guide rail, and roadway paint markings.
Construction is expected to begin August 18, 2025, weather permitting, and is expected to be completed by October 2025.
Drivers should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions and anticipate travel delays during active work hours.
The contractor is IA Construction of Franklin, PA. The contract cost is $1,817,777.77, which is to be paid entirely with state funds.
