The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) invites the public to an online plans display regarding State Route 209 Section 017 (Culvert Replacement) at the tributary to Wiconisco Creek crossing. This project is located in Washington Township, Dauphin County between State Drive and Engle Road on US 209.

The proposed project will replace a stream culvert in a two lane, two-way section of US 209. This will include excavation and removal of the old culvert, installation of a pre-cast concrete box culvert, pavement reconstruction, and guide rail improvements. The culvert will be constructed in half widths while maintaining bi-directional traffic utilizing the nearby State Drive roadway to maintain southbound traffic while northbound traffic remains on US 209.

The project is currently in design, and construction work is expected to take place sometime in the late 2026 and/or early 2027 construction seasons. The duration of construction is anticipated to last 3 months. A digital version of the project plans and information will be available to view online from approximately May 2, 2025, through June 2, 2025. The hard copy plans will also be available for review at the Washington Township Municipal Building during the dates listed above.
