Project Overview

County: Monroe
Municipality: Paradise Township
State Route: 1006
Local Name: Red Rock Road
Project Type: Bridge Replacement
MPMS Number: 79203
Proposed Construction Start: Fall 2027
Proposed Construction End: Fall 2028
Last Updated: September 2025

This project involves replacing the open grate structure carrying State Route 1006 (Red Rock Road) over Paradise Creek in Paradise Township with an adjacent box beam bridge.

The horizontal alignment and vertical profile will not change but the bridge will be widened slightly to accommodate pedestrians and a larger water table. Signs and safety features will be upgraded. A driveway in proximity to the bridge will be relocated slightly to allow for upgraded safety features and improve sight distance. The downstream streambank will be fortified to prevent further erosion and sediment deposition will be removed from the stream. The new piers and abutments will be reoriented to align with the current predominant stream channel flow direction.

Traffic will be detoured during construction, but local access will be maintained to all properties along Red Rock Road. No major constructability issues are anticipated.
