The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announces a Plans Display and Project Presentation for the SR 1006, Section 02B Bridge Replacement project. The proposed project involves replacing the open grate structure carrying State Route 1006 (Red Rock Road) over Paradise Creek in Paradise Township with an adjacent box beam bridge.

The horizontal alignment and vertical profile will not change but the bridge will be widened slightly to accommodate pedestrians and a larger water table.  Signs and safety features will be upgraded.  A driveway in proximity to the bridge will be relocated slightly to allow for upgraded safety features and improve sight distance.  The downstream streambank will be fortified to prevent further erosion and sediment deposition will be removed from the stream.   The new piers and abutments will be reoriented to align with the current predominant stream channel flow direction.

Traffic will be detoured during construction, but local access will be maintained to all properties along Red Rock Road.  No major constructability issues are anticipated.

Individuals or groups with a demonstrated interest within the project limits, surrounding businesses, and local property owners that may be affected by the proposed project are encouraged to review the displays and contact us with any questions.

The purpose of the plans display is to introduce the project and receive public input regarding any questions or concerns with the project. Please provide your question or comments by June 29, 2025.
