Cambria Wind LLC Windfarm

Windmill Blade Delivery Scheduled for March 16 Through Bedford and Somerset Counties to Ogle Township Wind Farm

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising drivers of the potential for lengthy delays from the movement of a superload consisting of a windmill blade through Bedford and Somerset counties on Monday, March 16, 2026.

Destined for the Cambria Wind LLC. Farm off Route 56 in Ogle Township, Somerset County, the superload is scheduled to travel north through Bedford and Somerset counties.

Windmill blades will depart from Maryland at 8:00 AM, travel through Bedford County on U.S. 220/I-99, and Route 56 (Quaker Valley Road/Clear Shade Drive) through Bedford and Somerset Counties to the wind farm.

Drivers should remain alert for these slow-moving, two-lane operations and use alternate routes when possible. Traveling both the posted speed limit and slower as needed, superloads will occasionally pull over to allow traffic to pass.  Motorists should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from advanced signage.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
