Detour Planned Next Week for Route 826 (Trough Creek Valley Pike) in Henderson Township, Huntingdon County, for Railroad Crossing Maintenance

Norfolk Southern Railroad Crossing Maintenance Project

On behalf of Norfolk Southern Railroad, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is informing drivers of an upcoming road closure and detour of Route 826 (Trough Creek Valley Pike) in Henderson Township, Huntingdon County, for railroad crossing maintenance.

Route 826 (Trough Creek Valley Pike), just north of Mill Creek, will be closed and detoured for approximately two (2) to three (3) days between Tuesday, June 9, and Friday June 12, 2026. Length of the closure is dependent on several factors, including track time, equipment issues, and weather.

The Route 826 (Trough Creek Valley Pike) detour will use U.S. 22 (Ben Franklin Highway) East to Route 655 (Oriskany Road, Bridge Street, Main Street, Campbell Street and Hares Valley Road) to Route 829 in Knightsville.

As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Drivers should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from advanced signage and flaggers.
