    Weather Causes Work Delay, Pushes Closure of Intersection of Route 756 (Elton Road) and T-805 (Vo-Tech Drive) and Detour in Richland Township, Cambria County, to Second Day

    The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is informing drivers of a planned one-day closure of the intersection of Route 756 (Elton Road) and T-805 (Vo-Tech Drive) in Richland Township, Cambria County, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

    Originally scheduled for today (June 22, 2026), the single-day closure and detour will be pushed to tomorrow (Tuesday, June 23, 2026) after heavy, persistent rains delayed the waterline relocation project. Contractors will now close Route 756 (Elton Road) intersection with T-805 (Vo-Tech Drive) at 7:00 AM Tuesday, June 23, to complete the waterline relocation. Traffic will be detoured to Schoolhouse Road and back to Vo-Tech Drive, approximately 2.4 miles from closure point to closure point.

    Contractors will also implement single-lane restrictions on Route 756 (Elton Road) between T-805 (Vo-Tech Drive) and Industrial Park Road, approximately 1,000 feet, under daylight flagging operations causing short delays of three (3) to five (5) minutes.

    As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Drivers should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from advanced signage and flaggers. 

    A Liberoni, Inc., Plum, Pa., is the lead contractor for the two-year, 2.5-mile, $9,473,117.05 Route 756 resurfacing project, which includes paving/resurfacing, sight distance and intersection safety improvements, the addition of left turning lanes, improved drainage, shoulder widening, the inclusion of bicycle-safe grates and the replacement of traffic signals and overhead signs.
