The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is informing drivers of a planned detour of Route 3009 (Valley Forge Road) in Juniata Township, Blair County, beginning Tuesday, July 21, 2026, for the rehabilitation of the bridge over Blair Gap Run.
From July 21, to approximately August 17, 2026, Route 3009 (Valley Forge Road) will be under a 10-mile detour using Route 3012/Old Route 22, Route 3013/Business U.S. 220 (Dunnings Highway), Route 3003 (Puzzletown Road) and Shamrock Lane in Newry.

HRI, Inc., of State College, is the lead contractor for the $903,860 bridge rehabilitation project on Route 3009 (Valley Forge Road) over Blair Gap Run in Juniata Township. The project includes replacement of the superstructure (the above-ground portion of a bridge that directly spans the obstacle and supports traffic loads), roadway reconstruction, milling and paving, and guide rail replacement. The project is expected to be completed in October 2026.
