    Lengthy Delays on Route 866 (High Street and Piney Creek Road) in Williamsburg Borough and Woodbury Township for Pavement Resurfacing Project Beginning April 6

    The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is informing drivers of lane restrictions and the potential for lengthy delays on Route 866 (High Street and Piney Creek Road) in Williamsburg Borough and Woodbury Township, Blair County, starting Monday, April 6, 2025, for the start of a pavement resurfacing project.

    From Monday, April 6, through Thursday, April 9, 2025, drivers can expect lane restrictions and lengthy delays (up to 15 minutes) on Route 866 (High Street and Piney Creek Road) during daylight hours for tree trimming and surveying. From Monday, April 13, through Thursday, April 16, crews will be installing new drainage along the route.

    As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Drivers should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from advanced signage and flaggers. 

    New Enterprise Stone & Lime, New Enterprise, Pa., is the lead contractor for the 1.5-mile, $2,637,000.00 project which includes on tree trimming, drainage improvements, asphalt resurfacing and pedestrian upgrades on Route 866 from one-half mile west of T-394 (Ridge Road) to 1st Street/Canal Street in Williamsburg. The project is expected to be completed in November 2026.    

    Drivers can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
