The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is informing drivers of a planned detour of Route 2001 (Oak Dale Road) for a bridge replacement project in Elk Lick Township, Somerset County.
From Monday, July 13, to approximately Wednesday, August 12, 2026, the contractor will be implementing a 7.5-mile detour of Route 2001 (Oak Dale Road) using Route 669 (Springs Road), and Route 2003 (St Paul Road).
C. H. & D. Enterprises Inc., New Stanton, Pa., is the lead contractor for the $1,359,749 project to replace the existing bridge on Route 2001 (Oak Dale Road) over Laurel Creek near the intersection of T-323 (Tub Mill Run Road).
As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Drivers should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from advanced signage and flaggers.
