The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is developing plans for the Route 869 (Heritage Road) Bridge Replacement Project in King Township, Bedford County. Located less than a mile northwest of Osterburg, the project will include the replacement of the existing two span steel girder bridge carrying Route 859 (Heritage Road) over Scrubgrass Creek with a new two span concrete box beam bridge, as well as guide rail, drainage, and approach upgrades.
A detour will be implemented during construction, with access to local residential driveways and businesses maintained during construction.
For those interested in learning more about this project, a public meeting and plans display is scheduled for Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Imler Area Volunteer Fire Company, 996 Mowrys Mills Road, Imler, PA 16655. The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed project.
