The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is developing plans for the U.S. 219 Boynton Bridge Over Piney Creek Bridge Replacement Project in Elk Lick Township, Somerset County.
The project consists of a structure replacement, minor roadway approach paving, and upgrading guiderails to meet current standards. A detour will be implemented during construction to relocate the current temporary crossing downstream and adjacent to the existing bridge location.
For those interested in learning more about this project, a public meeting and plans display is scheduled for Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Salisbury Elk Lick High School gym located at 196 Smith Street, Salisbury, PA 15558. The plans display will be conducted in an open house format. The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed project.
The meeting location is accessible to persons with disabilities. Anyone having special needs or requiring special aid is asked to contact PennDOT prior to the meeting. If you require additional information concerning the meeting, please contact Andrew G. Keirn, P.E., PennDOT Project Manager, at 814-696-7299.
