On behalf of CSX Railroad, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is informing motorists of an upcoming closure and detour in Glencoe, Somerset County for removal and replacement of rails at the crossing on Route 2015 (Glencoe Road) on Friday, October 3, 2025.
A one-day closure of Route 2015 (Glencoe Road) between Route T-754 (Clymer Street) and River Road is necessary to repair a rail defect in the middle of the crossing.
Traffic will follow a detour using Route 160 (Cumberland Highway) and Route 2020 (Poorbaugh Road).
This work is expected to be completed on October 3, however, track time, equipment or weather-related issues could cause a closure extension.
As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Motorists should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for changes in traffic.
Additionally, PennDOT reminds motorists that as of June 5, 2025, the "Paul Miller's Law" is in effect. This law prohibits the use of hand-held devices while driving, even while stopped temporarily due to traffic, a red light, or other momentary delay. Violation of this law is punishable by way of summary citations issued by any Pennsylvania Law Enforcement officer. We strongly urge motorists to make safe choices, put phones out of reach and don’t text and drive.
