On behalf of CSX Railroad, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is informing motorists of a three-day daylight lane closure that will start Monday, October 6, 2025, along Route 1002 (Municipal Drive) in Allegheny Township, Blair County.
Maintenance and repair work on the railroad crossing between Route 1001 (Plank Road) and Route 764 is expected to start each day at 6:00 AM and end at approximately 5:00 PM beginning on Monday and ending at the end of day on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
Traffic will be controlled one lane at a time using flagging operations. As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Motorists should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for changes in traffic.
The work for this project includes replacement of damage rail ties, repaving the adjacent roadway and other maintenance.
PennDOT reminds motorists that as of June 5, 2025, the "Paul Miller's Law" is in effect. This law prohibits the use of hand-held devices while driving, even while stopped temporarily due to traffic, a red light, or other momentary delay. Violation of this law is punishable by way of summary citations issued by any Pennsylvania Law Enforcement officer. We strongly urge motorists to make safe choices, put phones out of reach and don’t text and drive.
