Speed Limit Restored on Major Roads in the South-Central PA Region

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has lifted all speed limit and right-lane-only commercial vehicle restrictions on major roads in the PennDOT District 8 southcentral Pennsylvania region.

Speed limits have been restored on the following:

  • Interstate 78, entire length
  • Interstate 81, from the Maryland state line to Mile 96.8 at the Lebanon County/Schuylkill County line
  • Interstate 83, entire length
  • Interstate 283, entire length
  • US-11, from Duncannon north to the Perry County/Juniata County line
  • US-15, entire length
  • US-22 from I-81 to Millerstown
  • US-30 from PA-24 to PA-462
  • US-222, entire length
  • PA-283, entire length
  • PA-581, entire length

PennDOT is continuing to treat roadways in the area and will continue until roads are clear.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions on 2,900 miles, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
