Expect lane restrictions during night work

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that concrete patching is scheduled to resume Monday, April 27, on southbound Interstate 83 between Exit 39A (Route 114/Lewisberry Road) and Exit 36 (Route 262/Fishing Creek) in York County.

Weather permitting, this work will be conducted from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM Monday through Thursday nights for approximately one month. There will be lane restrictions in place during work hours.

Travelers should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.

Concrete patching is also expected to be performed later on the southbound I-83 Exit 32 (Route 382/Newberrytown) off ramp. The ramp will be closed for two nights during patching. An updated press release will be issued when this work is scheduled.

This work is a continuation of a concrete repair project that started in the fall of 2024 on Interstate 81 in Franklin County, then continued in 2025 on I-81 in Dauphin County and on Interstate 83 in York County.

J.D. Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA, is the contractor on this $2,776,703 project. All work is expected to be completed by June 2026.
