Bridge Inspections Planned on Route 581 over Conodoguinet Creek in Hampden Township, Cumberland County

Expect eastbound and westbound lane restrictions during working hours.

Harrisburg, PA The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that an inspection is scheduled this week on the eastbound and westbound Route 581 bridges spanning Conodoguinet Creek between Exit 2 (Creekview Road) and Exit 3 (Carlisle Pike) in Hampden Township, Cumberland County. There will be lane and shoulder restrictions in place during daylight hours.

Weather permitting, this work will be performed Tuesday, June 2, and Wednesday, June 3. The eastbound and westbound right lane and shoulder will be closed from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. At least one travel lane each direction will remain open.

Inspectors plan to inspect the bridge on foot.

Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the road crews.
