    Guiderail Repairs Planned for Wednesday on EB Route 581 in Cumberland County

    Shoulder restriction will be in place during work hours

    Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that guiderail repairs are planned for this Wednesday (Jan. 14) on two sections of eastbound Route 581 in Cumberland County.

    .Weather permitting, guiderail repairs will be performed from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 14, on eastbound Route 581 at Mile 0.5 just east of the Interstate 81 interchange, and from Mile 4.8 to Mile 5.0 just west of the Route 15 interchange.

    A shoulder closure will be in place during work hours.

    Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the road crews.

    This work is associated with a project consisting of concrete patching, diamond grinding and replacement of two traffic counter device locations, and other miscellaneous construction on Route 581 in East Pennsboro, Hampden, and Lower Allen townships, and Camp Hill and Lemoyne boroughs.

    Kinsley Construction, LLC, of York, PA, is the contractor on this $15,482,961 project.

    All work is expected to be completed by September 8, 2027.
