Night work planned for five more weekends
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that work this weekend is scheduled for only Friday night to repair a pipe trench on Interstate 83 in York County. Work for the remainder of the weekend has been postponed. The project limits extend from just south of Exit 32 (Route 382/Newberrytown) to about 1.5 miles north of Exit 28 (Route 297/Strinestown/Zions View) in Newberry Township.
The contractor will work Friday, April 24, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM Saturday, April 25, then resume scheduled weekend work Friday, May 1, through Sunday, May 3, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, then continue during the same hours for four more weekends, weather permitting. This work will be to replace drainage and median barrier.
There will be lane restrictions during work hours.
Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the road crews.
This project consists of overlay, milling, base replacement, barrier replacement, minor drainage improvements, pavement markings, and other miscellaneous construction.
All work is weather permitting.
Pennsy Supply, Inc., of Harrisburg is the contractor for this $4,678,000 project. All work is expected to be completed by September 17, 2026.
