Expect lane restrictions on northbound I-81 and Route 581 ramp to southbound I-81.
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced that a bridge inspection is planned for the southbound Interstate 81 off-ramp (Ramp A) to Route 581 at Exit 59 over northbound Interstate 81 and the westbound Route 581 Ramp to southbound Interstate 81 (Ramp C) at Exit 1B in Hampden Township, Cumberland County.
Weather permitting, this work will be conducted Monday, June 1, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. There will be right-lane and shoulder restrictions on I-81 northbound at Exit 59 and on the westbound Route 581 ramp to southbound I-81 at Exit 1B. Delays are expected.
Inspectors plan to inspect the bridge using an inspection crane from the roadway.
Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the road crews.
