Night Work Begins Next Week at Kindig Lane/High Street Traffic Signal Project in Hanover Borough, York County

Contractor to install permanent signals, make other improvements at the intersection

Harrisburg, PA
– The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that night work is scheduled to begin next week on a project to install permanent traffic signals at the intersection of Kindig Lane and High Street in Hanover Borough, York County.

Weather permitting, night work will begin Wednesday, September 3. The contractor will work from approximately 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM weeknights for at least three weeks. There will be lane restrictions with flaggers providing traffic control at the intersection and a nearby railroad crossing.

Work during this time includes installing new traffic signals, base repair, milling, and paving.

Temporary signals are in place at the intersection. However, there may be intermittent flagging as needed during this project, which may cause delays.

Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.

This project includes the installation of permanent traffic signals, ADA curb ramps, base repairs, paving, line painting, and signs.

JVI Group, Inc., of York Springs, PA, is the contractor for the $737,925 project.  All work is expected to be completed by October 10, 2025.
