Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a detour is planned for this weekend for work at the Route 34 (Spring Road) bridge between Route 944 (Wertzville Road) and Mountain Road in Middlesex Township, York County.
Weather permitting, the bridge will be closed from 7:00 PM Friday, July 18, to 6:00 AM Monday, July 21. A detour will be in place using Route 944 and Sunnyside Drive. Local traffic will be able to access driveways and businesses on either side of the closure. However, no through traffic will be permitted.
This work is included in a resurfacing project consisting of base repair, milling, overlay, guide rail replacement, minor drainage, and other miscellaneous activities on Route 34 from Route 944 (Enola Road) to just south of the Sterretts Gap roundabout.
There will be lane restrictions during daylight hours for paving and drainage work.
Pennsy Supply, Inc., of Harrisburg is the contractor on this $,1,521,275 project. All work is expected to be completed by August 22, 2025.
