Resurfacing Scheduled on Route 34 in the Carlisle Area, Cumberland County

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing is scheduled to begin soon on Route 34 in the Carlisle area, Cumberland County. The project limits extend from Lindsay Lane in South Middleton Township to High Street in Carlisle Borough.

Weather permitting, this work will begin Monday, October 20 and take about seven days to complete. This work will be performed 21 hours a day with the contractor working daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 AM. No work will be performed during the hours of 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM.

When possible, one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction. However, there will be times when traffic will be restricted to a single lane with alternating directions of traffic being directed through the work zone with flaggers. There may be delays.

This work consists of milling and paving. Milling will be performed at night and paving during the day.
