Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that an inspection is planned for next week on the northbound and southbound Interstate 83 bridge spanning Conewago Creek approximately 1.5 miles north of Exit 28 (Route 297 - Zions View/Strinestown). There will be daytime lane restrictions.
Weather permitting, this work will be performed Monday July 28, through Thursday, July 31.
The right lane of southbound I-83 will be closed Monday July 28 and Tuesday July 29 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and the right lane of northbound I-83 will be closed Wednesday July 30 and Thursday July 31 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. One lane will remain open each day.
Inspectors plan to inspect the bridge using an inspection crane from the roadway.
Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the road crews.
