Bridge is the first of a two-bridge contract
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the Bridge Valley Road (Route 3038) bridge in Lancaster County is open to traffic. The bridge, which spans a tributary to the Susquehanna River between Lake Aldred Terrace and Ridge Drive in Martic Township, was closed in late June for replacement.
A detour associated with the closure has been lifted.
This work consists of the replacing the existing slab structure with a precast concrete span arch culvert, approach reconstruction and guiderail updates.
This bridge is the first of a two-bridge contract that also includes replacing the Martic Heights Drive (Route 3018) bridge spanning a tributary to Tucquan Creek between Creamery Road and Douts Hill Road in Martic Township. The bridge on Martic Heights Drive was closed for replacement in August and is expected to be reopen in October.
JVI Group, Inc., of York Springs, PA, is the contractor on this $1,996,224 project.
