Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the Martic Heights Drive (Route 3018) bridge in Lancaster County is scheduled to be closed next week for a replacement project. The bridge spans a tributary to Tucquan Creek between Creamery Road and Steinman Farm Road in Martic Township.
Weather permitting, the bridge will be closed Wednesday, August 20. The bridge is expected to be closed until late October. A detour will be in place using River Road (Route 3017), Route 324 (Marticville Road) and Red Hill Road (Route 3019).
This work consists of the replacing the existing slab structure with a precast concrete box culvert, approach reconstruction, new signs and guiderail updates.
This bridge is the second of a two-bridge contract that also includes replacing the Bridge Valley Road (Route 3038) bridge spanning an unnamed tributary to the Susquehanna River in Martic Township. The bridge was closed in late June and is expected to open in mid-to-late September.
JVI Group, Inc., of York Springs, PA, is the contractor on this $1,996,224 project.
All work is expected to be completed by October 22, 2025.
