Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that an inspection is scheduled this week on the Interstate 78 bridges spanning Swatara Creek and an abandoned railroad about two miles east of Interstate 81 in Union and Swatara townships, Lebanon County.
Weather permitting, there will be daytime lane and shoulder restrictions on I-78 eastbound and westbound from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 2, and Friday, October 3. A right lane and shoulder restriction will be in place on the eastbound bridge on Thursday. A right lane and shoulder restriction will be in place on the westbound bridge on Friday.
Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the inspection crews.
