Bridge to be inspected
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today there will be daytime lane restrictions this week on the southbound Interstate 81 bridge spanning Swatara Creek/Route 72 approximately 7.5 miles south of Exit 100 (Route 443/Pine Grove) so the bridge can be inspected.
Weather permitting, this work will be performed from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM Wednesday November 5, and Thursday, November 6. There will be a right lane restriction on southbound I-81. One travel lane will remain open each day.
Inspectors plan to inspect the bridge using an inspection crane from the roadway.
Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the road crews.
