Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that asphalt repairs are planned for this Wednesday, July 30, on Route 851 (E. Forrest Avenue) in York County. The work limits are from Mount Airy Road (Route 2097) in Shrewsbury Township to Main Street (Route 3001) in Shrewsbury Borough.
Weather permitting, this work will be performed from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Wednesday, July 30. In the event of rain, it will occur during the same hours the following day, Thursday, July 31.
There will be lane restrictions and traffic shifts, with intermittent flagging as needed. Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.
This work is part of a resurfacing project on Route 851 and Susquehanna Trail/George Street (Route 3001).
The project limits on Route 851 extend from Sunset Drive in Shrewsbury Borough to the tie-in to the diverging diamond interchange at Exit 4 (Interstate 83) in Shrewsbury Township.
The project limits on Route 3001 extend from the Loganville Borough line near the intersection with Reynolds Mill Road in Springfield Township to Leader Heights Road in York Township.
Construction activities include base repair, milling and overlay, guide rail replacement, minor drainage, and other miscellaneous activities.
JVI Group, Inc., of York Springs, PA, is the contractor on this $2,820,103 project. All work is expected to be completed by September 17, 2025.
