King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today a traffic shift will occur next weekend on U.S. 422 in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County, and North Coventry Township, Chester County.
Drivers are advised of the following travel restriction:
- From 7:00 PM Friday, November 6, to 7:00 PM Saturday, November 7, lane closures will be in place on U.S. 422 in both directions between the Sanatoga (Evergreen Road) and Hanover Street interchanges.
The traffic shift will move westbound U.S. 422 traffic onto the newly reconstructed westbound lanes to allow PennDOT’s contractor to begin reconstruction of the middle section of the highway, marking the start of the final stage of construction. Eastbound traffic will remain in its current configuration.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. The schedule is weather dependent.
This work is part of PennDOT’s $83.6 million project to reconstruct and improve approximately 2.1 miles of the expressway and replace bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township.
